Sadly, this application only exists as an idea in my head at this moment, but I am hoping somebody out there is a budding developer who is willing to give this a try.
Copying files around various folders and drives is a constant part of working on your computer. However the process is not very streamlined. Yes, you can bring up two finder windows, but that takes it's time. Yes, you can use Cmd-C and Cmd-V, but you still have to find the target location. And yes, you can create shortcuts on your desktop, but that means fighting your way through all those open windows to your desktop.
A much easier solution would be a floating window that holds your most-used locations. That way you only have to find the source location, and the target is already on the screen, no matter how many Safari windows you have open. Think of it like Twitteriffic. Always on top for easy access.
To better explain what I mean, I created a mockup, shown above. Fans of the previously mentioned application might notice some striking similarities, so before people get all up in arms: Yes, a Twitteriffic screenshot was the basis for this. However I am not looking to sell or create this (yet), so I'm sure Chockenberry won't mind.
So if anybody out there has a few spare minutes to whip this together, please give me a shout so I can throw some money at you.
